Obama speculates the recession is over - is this okay?
OUR PRESIDENT THE SPECULATOR - A quote from another press conference our president held today, “U.S. may be seeing beginning of end of recession”. Is Obama speculating our economy is out of a recession or does he have facts to back that up? No facts were given because Americans rarely demand them.
BOTTOMLINE - I agree with our president that the end of the recession has either begun or is in our sights. That being said, our government is attempting to punish so-called energy “speculators” this week at the same time our president is speculating the US economy is improving. Can somebody please explain the difference to me? As far as I am concerned speculating is an integral part of the financial world and has been for years and will be for years to come. That being said, I have no issue with Obama speculating, but what bothers me is one more hypocritical move from our government. Could it be Obama wants Americans to think the worst is behind us because his approval ratings are dropping or to force through a health care bill? I do not have the answer to that, but with the focus on speculators this week, keep in mind we are all speculators or one kind or another. When you buy a stock you are a speculator. Most investors have no intention on voting for the board or have no clue truly about the inside workings of the company. They are simply speculating that earnings will increase and thus so will the stock price. If I am wrong please let me know! |
